DuraLast HPC:
Three Steps to a Beautiful
Home…Forever!
1.
Preparation Phase
The Preparation Phase is the most
critical phase of the application
process! DuraLast HPC is
specifically formulated as a
lifetime coating, but the success of
the application is dependent on
application to a thoroughly
prepared, solid substrate.
Preparation begins with a thorough,
rigorous pressure washing. The
pressure washing utilizes an
aggressive mildewcide to eliminate
any mildew and mildew spores; and a
simple detergent to eliminate oils,
chalking, dirt, and grime. An
aggressive pressure washing reveals
any unknown damage in the substrate.
After pressure
washing, the home is a near
“sterile” as possible. Next, the
substrate is addressed to insure a
solid surface for application. Any
rotted or damaged substrate is
replaced.
A sealant is
applied to all cracks and around
doors and windows to enhance the
substrate and increase energy
efficiency.
2. Application of DuraLast
Bonding Agent
Although DuraLast HPC is rated as
the best coating available today, it
requires use of DuraLast Bonding
Agent to insure a lasting adhesion
to the substrate. DuraLast Bonding
Agent is similar to paint primer in
function, although it is formulated
to be much more durable and provide
an etched bond substrate.
Application of
DuraLast Bonding Agent begins with
masking of all areas which will NOT
have DuraLast HPC applied to
them…windows, doors, fixtures…any
area that will not be coated with
DuraLast HPC. Careful masking
reduces the requirement for
excessive cleanup, and insures that
the customer’s home will be
protected. DuraLast Bonding Agent
must cure overnight for an durable,
permanent bond to the substrate.
3. Application of DuraLast HPC
After careful
preparation of the substrate, and
application of DuraLast Bonding
Agent, it’s time to begin the final
phase…application of DuraLast HPC.
DuraLast HPC is a single coat
application. DuraLast HPC should be
applied to a thickness of 20 – 22
mils, which will dry to a thickness
of 10 – 12 mils. Due to the
consistency of DuraLast HPC, special
care should be taken to provide an
adequate thickness at application.
When properly applied, DuraLast HPC
provides a rich, satiny appearance
that gives the home a “just painted”
look. Unlike paint, or other coating
products, DuraLast HPC maintains
this appearance for a lifetime! Due
to the unique characteristics of
DuraLast HPC, maintenance
requirements virtually
disappear…simply rinse with a garden
hose every 6 –12 months. Stains can
be cleaned with conventional
household detergents and cleaners.
